Evinco’s Therapeutics’ science team have been busy expanding peripheral blood NK cells for animal studies on NK-Extracellular Vesicles (EVs). The EVs extracted from these NK cells will be used for assessing biodistribution of EVs in mouse brain following intra-nasal delivery, and for assessing corrective behaviour in dogs with spontaneous Canine Cognitive Dysfunction with collaborating veterinarians. We are also testing some large-scale NK cell manufacturing methods with a collaborating company.
Confirmation of the mechanisms of action of the NK-EVs on brain cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) is underway in Nathalie Saurat’s lab at ARMI Monash University. EV cargo determinisation is underway also at Monash University. The purification and characterisation of NK-EVs in large scale have progressed with new technological processes using demonstrator equipment that will define the manufacturing processes. Evinco’s pharma partner has developed work plan 2 for further strategic guidance of the research program in preclinical development.
Dr Igor Gonda has joined the Evinco Board and brings needed biotechnology business expertise and nasal drug delivery experience to the company. Dr Inbar Avraham has joined Evinco management as a Biotechnology Consultant, bringing her strong track record in advancing biological products through discovery to commercialisation. She will provide strategic guidance to support successful product delivery to the patients.
Evinco is working with Roy Morgan Research and Polling, together with David Christensen Marketing Communications to help build awareness of the urgent need for new treatments to patients with Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological degenerative conditions. We could expect the building of strong positive community support for Evinco’s vision to provide affordable, easily administered and effective therapies for the growing incidence of serious neurological conditions globally.
Interest in the potential application of Evinco’s NK-EV platform for concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI) continues to grow. Researchers at Monash University are exploring opportunities to collaborate with Evinco for TBI. We are exploring funding opportunities to support this exciting area of research and expand the potential impact of this technology to address this massive unmet need.
To support the company’s continued growth, Cartherics Pty Ltd has begun offering for sale their shareholding in Evinco. Some of Cartherics shareholders have expressed interest in taking up these shares and now new shareholders can also seek interest in this as well.
At present Evinco has a priority for the present capital raising ($2M) to support our ongoing operations, accelerate preclinical development and advance the company’s innovative therapeutic programs towards clinical translation.
